100 Masterpieces of Design showcases one of the worldās largest design collections. Founded in the early 1990s, the Pompidouās collection includes more than 200 designers and houses over 8,000 international pieces.
Among its wide-ranging holdings are milestone pieces ā the prototype of the Grand Confort Chair by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret (1928) and Pierre Chareauās desk for Robert Mallet-Stevens (1927), for exampleāand practical, everyday triumphs of design, like the Bic Cristal ballpoint pen (1950).
